<br />; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF MIN~ESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAr4SEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION FOR <br />SPECIAL USE PERMIT, SP-85 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an application for a special use permit entitled <br />SP-85 has. been marle by Belair Builders, Inc. topermitsignfng <br />at 44l-5 8th Avenue N.W., and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1. That ah application for a special use permit SP-85 <br />was filed with the City of New Brighton on March l4, <br />1979. <br /> <br />2. That such application was reviewed by the New Brighton <br />Planning Commission Board of Review on March 20~ 1979. <br /> <br />3. That the City Council, pu~suant to published and mailed <br />notices, held a publi.c hearing on April 10, 1979, all <br />person's present at the hearing were given an <br />opportunity to be heard. <br /> <br />4. The written comm~nts and analysis of the City staff, <br />the Planning Commission minutes and recommendations <br />were considered. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the New Brighton City <br />Council makes the following Findings of Fact in respect to <br />SP-85. <br /> <br />l. The general purpose of the sign ordinance is to <br />promote sound identification, reduction of clutter <br />and aesthetic enhancement; <br /> <br />2. That the building design and location create a <br />situation where signing must be handled sensitively; <br /> <br />3. That wall signs would not be consistent with the <br />general purposes of the sign ordinance; <br /> <br />4. That a single ground sign as proposed would provide <br />sound identification and would be compatible with <br />the general area. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application for SP-85 <br />is hereby recommended for approval subject to the following: <br /> <br />1. That no more than one (1) ground sign shall be <br />permitted on the property; <br /> <br />2. That the ground sign contain building name and <br />tenant names only; <br /> <br />3. That such ground sign shall not exceed sixty-four (64) <br />square feet in area nor 20 feet in height, and shall <br />have a minimum setback of thirteen (13) feet, <br />four (4) inches from 8th Avenue N.W.; <br /> <br />.4" <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />
