AND SOUTH OF TENTH STREET N.W. TO A SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING ON TUESDAY, MAY 3, 1988, AT 4:30 P.M. 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried Mattila briefly reviewed staff report concerning a request for site plan review to construct an addition onto the eXisting Becchetti Industrial Building on Old Highway 8 and County Road E; staff and Planning Commission recommend approval of LP-227. As there were no questions or comments, Williams moved, seconded by Gunderman, to APPROVE LP-227 SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDI- nONS: L rROVISIO~~ OF l\ DUMPSTER ENCLOSURE; 2. SPRINKLE ENTIRE BUILDING PER APPENDIX E; AND 3. PROVISION OF A PERFORMANCE BOND IN THE AMOUNT EQUAL TO 100% OF ALL SITE IMPROVEMENTS EXCLUDING THE PROPOSED BUILDING ADDI- TION. 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried Mattila briefly reviewed staff report concerning a site plan review to construct a 2,400 square foot addition onto an existing building to house some tanks which would collect heavy metals from the waste water which is now going into the city's sanitary sewer system as required by the Metropolitan Sewer District; the facility would clean up the wastes and would be collected and removed from the site on a periodic basis; proposed addition meets with 1-1 district standards. Mattila showed slides of existing building, exterior storage, and the screening of that storage and noted the building separates storage from the freeway. Benke asked if that type of Mattila indicated that opaque exterior storage. screening is permitted in the code; screening is encouraged to screen Gunderman stated we are asking the applicant to screen his storage and look at a truck parking lot which is not screened; Mattila indicated the truck parking lot is a non-conforming use and indi- cated the city cannot ask that owner to do anything until they expand their facility.
