HEAD'S APPROVAL:

No comments to supplement this report

#

Comments below/attached

EXPLANATlONbSXINlNlXIl'tX(attach supplemental sheets as necessary):

To consider review of SP-92, as stipulated by Council Resolution 2351
dated July 22, 1980.

STAFF ANALYSIS
On July 22, 1980 the New Brighton City Council approved a special use
permit application made by the United Theological Seminary to temporarily
convert some dormitory units into faculty offices and a lounge (see
attached resolution). The Seminary's application for SP-92 was approved
subject to a five year review.

The United Theological Seminary is now requesting the five year review
and continued approval of the use of domitory space for offices and a
lounge (see attached letter and plans). The Seminary plans to begin a
fund drive to construct an office expansion. However, the fund drive
will take up to five years tocemplet~.

All of the findings of fact in Resolution 2351 are valid today. There
have been no complaints filed on the use of the domitory space for
faculty offices. Parking at the Seminary is adequate and no impact has
been felt by single family homes.

RECOMMENDATION
Motion finding that the conti hued use of domitory space for faculty
offices and a lounge at the United Theological Seminary is still
consistent with the findings of fact of Resolution 2351 and that the
use of the domitory space for faculty offices and lounge are permitted
to continue subject to further review in five years.

&'~~r~:r&~

City Planner
