The boring locations were

selected and located in the field by STS personnel. Ground surface

elevations at the locations of each of borings were also determined by our

field personnel. The boring locations were referenced to an existing

manhole near the intersection of the centerlines of 8th Avenue S.N. and 1st

Street S.W. in New Brighton, Minnesota. The topographic survey supplied to
us by DeWayne C. Olson Consulting Engineer shows the elevation of the
benchmark to be +907.4. The locations of the borings are shown in the

location diagram in the Appendix of this report.

The soil borings were drilled with a truck-mounted CME-75 drill rig which

used continuous flight augers to advance the boreholes to full depth. Wash

water was not required during the drilling operation. Representative soil

samples were obtained using the Split-Barrel Sampling Procedure in close

conformance . with ASTM Specification D-1586. The Standard Penetration

Resistance Test N-Values obtained during split-barrel sampling are shown on

the soil boring logs by means of crossed circles on a graphical scale.

Copies of these ASTM Specifications, describing the manner in which the

soil samples were obtained, are included in the Appendix of this report.

The soil samples obtained in this exploration program were preliminarily

classified by the drill crew, sealed in glass jars to prevent moisture loss

and returned to our laboratory for further examination and testing.

STS Consultants, Ltd.
