I
I
I
I
I
Ii
I
I
I
~I
I
I
I
I,
I
I
I
I
I

Transport Tire, Inc.

-1-

March 1, 1983

IijTRODUCTION .

The proposed tractor truck repair building for Transport Tire, Inc. is to

be located southeast of the intersection of 8th Avenue S.W. and 1st Street

S. W. in New Brighton, Minnesota. The building is to be a light metal.

building with anticipated maximum column loads of 70 kips and wall loads of

4 kips per lineal foot. We understand that the structure is to be
approximately 50 by 75 ft in plan dimension of pre-engineered steel design
construction. At this time, the proposed grade for the building is not

known. It is proposed that there will be two 16 ft high garage doors on

the north end of the building facing Is t Street S. W. We also understand

that there will be a 10 by 28 ft concrete apron in front of these doors.

Driveways are proposed to lead to the structure. Traffic loadings would

generally be tractor trucks and light passenger type vehicles. The
frequency of loading will likely be light.

The purpose of this report is to describe the soil and ground water

conditions encountered within the site exploration; to analyze and evaluate

these conditions with respect to the proposed projects; and to submit

recommendations for foundation design alternatives and comment on general

construction procedures.

G

STS Consultants, ltd.
