Whereas, Transportation was a ~ey factor in the location, growth, and development of urban ~amsey County; a~d ~~ereas, An Urban History Museum which would interpret and present the history of the growth and development of urban Ramsey County would be a valuable addition to the educational, cultural, and recreational resources of Ramsey Cou~ty and the City of St. Paul; and ., Whereas, An interpretive and operating exhibit of historic transportation equipment and artifacts would not only enhance the educational and recreational value of an Urban History Museum, but would'make a 'substantial'and valuable addition to the educational, cultural? and recreational .~esources of Ramsey County and the City of St. Paul in and of'itself; .and wbereas, Such a museum and exhibit may become possible and appropriate in the context of other development activities 'planned or taking place in the City of St. Paul; NO\.;r therefore, Be it Resolved, That the Ramse, County Histo~ical Society and the Minnesota Transportation.Museum, acting through their Boards of Directors, do pledge their mutual cooperation and collaboration for the purpose of investigating the feasibility of such museums; and ) That the Parties invite the collaboration of other public and private organizations who share common interest; and That the Special Projects Committee of the Ramsey County Historical Society be author~zed to act on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Society concerning the Urban History Museum Project, including discussions with the Minnesota Transportation Museum ~nc~vning the details of cooperation and collaboration on .. . the project. .. , , , , ) .. ---.----------~-------_. ~~-
