,' <br />`, ,. - PUBLIC HEARING. <br />;, VN-97 <br />February 13, 1973 - 8:15 p.m, <br />.PETITIONER: Nordqust Sign Company for Sambo's Restaurant <br />LOCATION: Highway 8 and County Road, D <br />NUMBER OF PROPERTY OWNERS WITHIN 200 FEET OF LOCATION: 4 <br />PETITIONER'S REQUESTS Variance of 48 square feet to permit construction <br />of a pylon sign of .348 square. feet. <br />ORDIANCE REQUIREMENTS: Section 14-040, Para, C. orb the New Brighton <br />Zoning; Code, states..-that in a~n industrial' <br />district the total square footage of business <br />sign area fore each lot shall not exceed five <br />(5) square feet for..each lineal foot of frontage. <br />The property in question-has 60.16`feet of <br />frontage which. would then permit a total sign <br />area of 300.8 square feet. <br />Section 14-050, Para B, states that signs are <br />to follow the setback and sideyard requirements <br />for other structures in that district. <br />Section 10-110, Para.' A. states that in <br />industrial districts the front yard .and side <br />street yard setbacks\sh~17: be forty {40} feet. <br />No where in the Zoning Code does there seem,-to <br />be a height limitation on signs in industrial <br />districts. <br />PETITIONER'S JUSTIFICATION TO MEET ABOVE REQUIREMENTS: <br />Location of property in relation to nearby freeway. Size and height <br />are needed for visability from 35W. <br />PLANNER`S REPORT: January 16, 1973- <br />- The property in question was the subject of review in consideration of <br />VN-93 at a special meeting of the New Brighton Planning •Commission on <br />September 5, 1972. T'he parcel is an irregularly shaped property lying <br />between New Highway 8, County Road D and the short segmentaed Long <br />Lake Road which extends from County Road D to OId Trunk, Highway g. <br />
