V -.
"' -VN=97
Sambo:, s ,.
P. 4
ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE "DISCUSSION -
It should: be noted-that Section "14-050 {c) limits any lot.in`_industral
districts to one (?1) advertising structure for .each fifty" (50) feet of
frontage. Sa`mbo's frontage is-60 feet and as a result they will be
limited to this one structure, It is the administration's int~:rpretaton
that the term "advertising: structure" refers to-a free standing
`structure an which advertising signs are affixed.
It appears that the proposed `sign will require either a setback variance
or a variance to allow the. sign to overhang thexequired yard areas.
>:
There is-only a small triangle of ]a nd approximately 3'9~ ~ 5' x 6'3"
which...is.notwithin arequired setback area, nor overhung by the building
roof. The `sign could be located-here. without .need of asetback"variance.
The sign will be between 22' and 28' in width-and will overhang the
required yard. areas by approximately 10-13' on each .side. Section
14-03.0 (a) states that no sign shall project more than twenty.-four(24)
inches across the front yard or side .yard setbacks. Therefore, a -
variance would be necessary.
If the sign were to be located anywhere outs~.de the small triangle
described above, a setback variance would be necessary.-
It should also be noted that the property in question has an 87' wide
boulevard along New Trunk Highway #8,a 172' boulevard. along Long Lake -
Road and a 15',boulevard along County.Road D,~
;.-
