<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was <br />held Tuesday, October 27, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth <br />Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Blomquist, Brandt, Gunderman, and Williams <br />(arrived at 7:35 p.m.) <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: <br /> <br />Gary Berger, Administrative Assistant (Acting City Manager) <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />Margaret Egan, Finance Director <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Gunderman, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 13, 1987, COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with council <br />Quality Commission minutes of <br />mission minutes of September <br />of October 7, 1987. <br /> <br />consent, received the Environmental <br />September 9, 1987; the Planning Com- <br />15, 1987; and the Park Board minutes <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />After changing the order of the items on the agenda, Mayor Benke <br />announced the City would be awarding Honorary Ambassador Certifi- <br />cates to Minnesota Gophers Rickey Foggie, Chip Lohmiller, and <br />Darrell Thompson. Gunderman advised that the three football <br />Gophers would be speaking at a father/son/daughter breakfast meet- <br />ing at Pike Lake Elementary School tomorrow morning and thanked <br />the Mayor for the Certificates. <br /> <br />Mayor Benke proclaimed Friday, November 6, 1987, as Minnesota <br />Twins Day in the City of New Brighton in recognition of the Twins <br />accomplishment in winning the World Series Championship.
