<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 27, 1987 <br /> <br />Benke stated New Brighton has received the honor or being named <br />IIworld championsll in the area of crime prevention; the upcoming <br />award is significant, is very important, and is a high honor for <br />our Explorer Scouts and for our police officers involved in the <br />program. <br /> <br />Sergeant Larry Hauck presented Mayor Benke with the 111987 National <br />Law Enforcement Explorer Community Crime Prevention Award" which <br />the New Brighton Police Department received in Montreal from the <br />International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners. Hauck <br />stated the award is given for outstanding service in community <br />crime prevention and recognizes the contributions of the New <br />Brighton Police Department's Explorer Post #554. Dan Jones, Cap- <br />tain of Post #554, presented councilmembers with hats, naming them <br />honorary members of the Post. Officer Ed Werneke briefly reviewed <br />the purpose of the award, highlighted the New Brighton Post's ac- <br />complishments in order to be the recipient of the award, and <br />thanked those who helped the explorer program. <br /> <br />Mayor Benke thanked the officers for the award, commenting New <br />Brighton is making a positive effort toward crime prevention. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Brandt asked that Item VI-II (Consideration of Sexual Harassment <br />policy) be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed at the end <br />of the Council Business agenda; Gunderman asked that Item VI-2 <br />(Consideration of petition from Birch Pond Condominiums for storm <br />sewer improvements and resolution regarding same) be removed from <br />the Consent Agenda and placed at the end of the Council Business <br />agenda. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Brandt, to APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA <br />ITEMS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. CONSOLIDATED VOUCHERS: 87504-874996 AND 85525-85757. <br /> <br />2. CONSIDERATION OF FOOD ESTABLISHMENT LICENSE FOR ANNIE'S DELI, <br />1801 OLD HIGHWAY 8. <br /> <br />3. CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FIRE LANES IN SILVER <br />OAKS CONDOMINIUMS. <br /> <br />4.
