Coua~cil Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />- Jan 27 1976 <br /> <br />Councilman Hardt asked whether the ground sign could be <br />replaced with the wall sign as recommended by the Planning <br />Commission on the south side of the building. <br />The Building and Planning Coordinator responded that this <br />is not possible and that a 4 sq ft directional sign would <br />be permitted <br />Motic°~ by Bromander, seconded by Vverdouschegg to approve <br />VN-15~ with the following conditions: <br />1. To allow wall signs on each street side saying <br />New Brighton Furniture, Inc. limited to 40/ <br />of selected signable area. <br />2. To remove the sign on south side of the building <br />and allow it to be replaced by a 4 sq. ft. sign <br />saying main entrance <br />3. To remove the ground sign <br />4. That the sign at Eddies Corner Bar is permitted <br />to continue as a non-conformity but is not <br />intended to be included in the variance being <br />approved. <br />3 ayes - 2 naves (Fisher, Hardt) - motion failed <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Fisher to approve <br />VN-152 with the following conditions: <br />1. Allowing the sign reading New Brighton Furniture, <br />Inc. on each street side of the building said <br />sign meeting the limit of covering no more <br />than 40% of the selected signable area. <br />2. Removal of the existing wall sign above the <br />entrance on the south side of the building and <br />replacement by a sign meeting ordinance <br />requirements as to size and saying Main Entrance. <br />3. Removal of projecting sign and wall sign over the <br />door to Eddies Corner Bar. <br />4. Allowing the existing wall signs on each side for <br />Eddies Corner Bar to remain but to reduce them to <br />saying only Eddies Corner Bar and the 7-Up logos. <br />5. Permanent window signs must be made conforming <br />to the ordinance limitation on items of information. <br />6. Remove the ground sign on the property <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by ti^3erdouschegg to amend the above <br />motion by removing conditions 3 and 5 <br />5 <br />
