Council Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />~, Jan 27 1976 <br />~' <br />l+~r; Leonard noted that he and the City Engineer would <br />meet with the affected property owners relative to <br />necessary easements. <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Senden to approve final <br />plans for intersection of Old Hwy 8 and 6th Street NW <br />and to authorize the Mayor to execute such plans <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes -carried <br />4 <br />Old Hwy 8 <br />6th Street <br />Unfinished Business <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Tr~erdouschegg to defer action Defer <br />on a1J. 1976 appointments until the next council meeting Appointments <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Hardt to receive report <br />regarding vandalism, Brighton Square Vandalism <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried Brighton <br />Motion by Bromander, seconded by Senden to direct Square. <br />administration to send a letter to Kraus/Anderson <br />strongly recommending that heavier construction be <br />utilized on the fence to reduce future damage to the <br />fence due to vandalism and poor construction <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - carried <br />Public Hearings <br />Attorney stated hearing remained properly called <br />Mayor Bromander noted that the hearing had been ~~)~ <br />continued at the request of the applicant <br />The Building and Planning Coordinator reviewed the <br />request and recommendations of the Planning Commission <br />Mr. Nattel, proprietor of the New Brightz~n Furniture, Inc., <br />provided the Council with a brief history of the problem. <br />He stated he is willing to: <br />1. Place a sign on 5th Ave. stating - <br />New Brighton Furniture, Inc., limiting such <br />sign to 5 items of information and of 40/ <br />of the selected signable area; <br />2. He would do the same thing on the 10th Street side. <br />3. He would remove the present ground sign and <br />construct a new ground sign in accordance with the code <br />stating New Brighton Furniture and Eddies Corner Bar <br />He noted that the feeling of Mr. Rybak was that if a <br />projecting sign was taken down, people would think <br />the corner bar was closed. <br />Motion by Fisher, seconded by werdouschegg to close <br />hearing <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes -carried <br />
