P~Sr. Edward Rybalt
February 11, 1976
Page 2
of words you can have on each street side. Basically,
you are limited to five words displayed on each street
sine. This includes both wall signs and window signs.
The three words "Eddie's Corner Bar" plus one item of
information for each of the 7~Up logos e:~haust the total
number of items of information that you can have on each
street side, therefore, no permanent c-aindow signs are allowed
under this condition.)
6. The existing ground sign south of the building must be
removed.
Variances are good for six months and you must make use of
them within that six month period of time or request an extension
of the time in writing of the City Council prior to the expiration
of the six months. Otherti~ise, the variance approval will expire.
In this case, however, because the sign on the New Brighton Furniture
part of the building was illegally erected and is in violation of
the ordinance, the Council has specified that you must indicate
by March ?.7th whether or not you will accept the variance and
comply with the conditions as attached by the Council or not.
In the event that you decide not to accept the variance conditions,
the illegal wall sign that has been erected by New Brighton Furniture
on the 5th Avenue side of the building will have to be removed
immediately. Failure to do so will result in that matter being
referred to the City Attorney for prosecution.
If you do decide to comply with the conditions of the variance,
in addition to notifying us by the date indicated, you must also
at that time indicate a time table for compliance with the variance
conditions. In referring to a time table, I do not mean to imply
that you have unlimited amounts of time to comply with the conditions.
There will be a relatively short span of time allowed, however, we
will have some flexibility in being able to set dates for compliance.
If you have any further questions in regard to this, please
fEel free to contact me.
