VN-156
_3_
• E-Z Mini project (see attached sketch for propsed location)
and, in addition, is requesting that the existing sign along I-35La
be allowed to remain as is.
The proposed sign would be approxima'cley 1•?-'x9', consisting
of two double faced planes. One plane would identify the E-Z
•Mini Storage property while the second plane would consist of
changeable tenant panela.
The applicant has indicated in his letter that the variance
is needed in order to direct customers to the site. Because
of the size of the site and because the existing sign and buildings
are set back a.considerable distance from Fifth Street, the applicant
has indicated that there is a hardship for his tenants because
their offices are difficult to identify; there is a hardship
for customers because it is difficult to locate the E-Z Mini
entrance; and, because ther is a problem involving those drivers
who mistakenly enter the E-7 i~iini driveway thinking they are on
Third Avenue.
In reviewing this request, the Board of Review may want to
consider the conditons as applied on the prior variance application.
• Tn?e would note that the intent of condition number 6 was to allow
for future review of signs in the event that the property is
subdivided or additional buildings are constructed on the property,
which may also desire signing.
•
