Public Hearing <br />VN-162 <br />November 9, 1976 <br />8:30 P.M. <br />Request: VN-162, Council approval of variance to permit erection <br />of signs on property having non-conforming signs. <br />Applicant: Rodney Billman <br />Location: 1401 1405 Silver Lake Road <br />Zoning: B-2 <br />Existing Signs: 1 ground sign, double faced <br />Height - 32.feet <br />Area - 25' x 10' 250 sq. ft, <br />5 Wall Signs, located on south side of building <br />Discussion <br />At its July 13th meeting, the City Council approved a variance <br />for Mr. Billman, as property owner, and the R.T. Wilson Co., as <br />tenant, for one wall directory sign not to exceed one square foot <br />to be placed on the building and two 4x8 panels to be placed on <br />either side of the existing ground sign. Such variance was approved <br />subject to the following conditions: <br />1. That a sign plan for the entire property be filed <br />within sixty'(60) days or the variance will expire. <br />2. That if such sign plan is presented within sixty <br />days, the variance terminates 180 days from its <br />issuance. <br />The present variance request filed by Mr. Billman is to permit <br />the erection and modification of signs on the property. In con- <br />junction with this request, the applicant has filed a sign plan <br />as required by the Council in the previous variance approval. <br />The building in question is located on the northeast corner <br />of 14th St. and Silver Lake Road and is owned by Mr. Billman. The <br />building is one of multiple.occupanc' having shared entrances. <br />-Tenants in the building irivcx6e Lund Realtors, Smith System Co., <br />Law Offices, Calhoun Realtor Co., European Health Spa, Inc., and <br />the R.T. Wilson Co. For pzzrposes of signing, such a building <br />is governed by Section 14-200 'Paragraph C of the Zoning Code, <br />which states:
