Mayor Bromander asked what the life expectancy was of the southerly billboard. Mr. Bell responded that elimination of any sign would be a hardship on the station. Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Hardt to close hearing. 5 ayes - 0 Hayes - carried Close Hearing Motion. by Hardt, seconded by Fisher to approve VN-164 to allow the self-serve si~nand northerly billboard to remain subject to the following conditions: 1. That the southerly billboard (Savingest Gas'Bllboard) be removed in six months. 2. That the remaining signs on the. property be brought into conformance within 5 years. 3. That the applicant present in writing to the City an agreement to accept and comply with tYe variance conditions. Motion by Senden, seconded by Werdouschegg to amend the motion by requiring that both billboards be removed. 2 ayes - 3 Hayes (Fisher, Bromander, Flardt) -motion failed Motion by Fisher, seconded by Werdouschegg to amend the main motion by requiring that the northerly billboard be ' removed within 18 months.
