d. Residential Projects. One unlighted sign may be displayed <br />for a residential project which is the initial offering <br />for sale or rent of ten or more new dwelling units, <br />vacant lots or combination thereof for a period not to <br />exceed two years. Such sign shall be no more than <br />ten (10) feet in height and thirty-two (32) square feet <br />in area, except that the area of the sign may be <br />increased to 64 square feet so long as it is situated <br />no closer than 150 feet from the property line of <br />an occupied residence that is not a part of the develop- <br />ment, and except that there shall be no limitation on <br />the maximum number of items of information. <br />c. Building Sides Not Abutting on A Street. A wall sign <br />may be displayed on the side or rear of a building <br />facing a yard not abutting on a'street under the <br />following conditions: <br />1. The signs be visible from a public roadway on <br />which the building abuts. <br />2. The side or rear yard on the side to be signed <br />shall meet district setback and buffering <br />.requirements. <br />3. The sign must meet the requirements of Section <br />14-040 and Section 14-130. <br />4. The sign shall be no larger than the largest• <br />wall sign which would be permitted on the front <br />of the building. <br />5. If the side or rear yard on the side of the build- <br />ing to be signed abuts on park property or a <br />residential district, only the name of the <br />activity shall be displayed, and such sign shall <br />not be lighted. <br />6. The number of items of information permitted on <br />the street side of the building from which such <br />sign is viewed shall be reduced by the number of <br />items of information utilized in such sign. <br />Section VI. Section 14-210 of Appendix I of the 1966 Code <br />of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />SECTION 14-210. Permit Required <br />A permit shall be required for the erection or relocation <br />or modification of a sign regulated by Chapter XIV of this Code, <br />excepting temporary window signs and signs regulated by 14-030 <br />of the Code. A permit shall be required for repairs to signs <br />when such repairs do not exceed fifty (50) per cent of such signs <br />fair market value. No permits are required for copy changes on <br />billboards. <br />a. The owner or occupant of the premises.o.n which the <br />sign requiring a permit is to be installed, displayed <br />or the owner or installer of such sign shall file <br />application witY~ the .building inspector for permission <br />to erect, modify, or relocate any sign or to make <br />repairs costing more than `$~50. <br />
