4 <br />,ouncil Proceedings <br />City of New Brighton <br />Dec. 13, 1977 <br />2. The applicant should prepare and present an <br />acceptable drainage plan prior to final approval of the <br />variance; <br />3. The applicant should provide 5-feet of snow storages easement <br />over the front of the two lots-to be created. <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Fisher to amend the <br />motion to require a 10-foot snow storage easement. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Vote on main motirn as amended <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- carried <br />Council Business: <br />The Mayor directed, wiu-h consent of the Council, <br />that memorandumfrom chairperson of the Environmental <br />Quality Commission dated Nov. 15, 1977, re: Bicycle <br />Path, CountyRoad D, be received and placed in the <br />minutes. <br />Councilman Werdouschegg discussed the contents of the <br />memo from the Environmental Quality Commission. <br />The Mayor directed, with consent of the Council that <br />administrative report dated Dec. 1, 1977 re: Right-of-way <br />acquisition on the County Road D Project be received and <br />placed in the minutes. <br />The Director of Public Works reviewed the contents of the report. <br />Wayne Leonard, county engineer,.described the proposal, <br />stating that if a bike path is constructed, the <br />County would fund such bikepath costs. Further, he <br />stated the County would be willing to take back that <br />portion of Long Lake Road between County Road D and Old <br />Highway 8 if requested at the time of- the upgrading <br />of County Road D. <br />Councilman Senden questioned Mr. Leonard as to whether the <br />County would construct an 8-foot concrete bike path. <br />Mr. Leonard responded that under the present proposed funding <br />this isnot proposed; however, they will be reapplying next <br />year for federal aid urban funds and if this was successful, <br />there may be no--cost to the City for the bike lane. <br />Y
