Page 2. <br />VN-185, Gary Huelsnitz <br />Commissioner Lang stated that it was necessary to use judgement and <br />practical sense in this case and that he-saw nothing. wrong with. granting <br />the variance.. <br />Commissioner Medved noted that thscasewould be much easier to decide <br />had the shed not already been constructed. <br />Chairman Brown stated.-.that the building was a 2/3 open covered patio <br />which will not be usable in the win er months. <br />Commissioner Williams stated that: if. this'permitweregranted a <br />preceden could be established wherein other similar. building were <br />built and then variances applied for after the fact. <br />Council Representative Senden stated-that. he was not sure that the'' <br />ordinance: was intended to cover screen houses. <br />Chairman Brown. stated that it is important. in any variance to hear <br />what neighbors feel and in this regard there. is a petition"signed <br />by adjacent property owners. Brown further stated that there are: <br />built in safeguards in the ordinance as every variance must be <br />judged on its own merits.. <br />Commissioner Williams stated .that the opinions of neighbors are <br />always important but that he felt the code should provide some <br />security and not leave property owners-and decisions such as this <br />to the whims or opinions of neighbors. <br />.Commissioner Anderson stated that the Board of Review charge is to act <br />on variances pertaining to the ordinances and standards set forth. <br />Commissioner Lang stated-that this was a matter of aesthetics and <br />does not involve public safety questions.
