STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RAMSEY CITY OF NEW .BRIGHTON RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVAL OF VARIANCE APPLICATION j7N-199 WHEREAS,. an application for a.Variance VN-199 has been made: by Real,Five, Inc. to permit the .installation of a 32.5 sq, ft, ground ,sign in a B-3 General Business district with a street yard of 84.03 feet. - WHEREAS, the procedural. history of the application is as follows: {~ 1. That an application for a variance.VN-199 was. filed with the City of New Bri.ghtori on Docember 8, 1978. 2. That the Board of Revieta heard and reviewed the application at its meeting on December 19, 1978. 3. That the City Council, pursuant to published and mailed notices, held a public Yiearing on January 23, 1979, all person's .present at the hearing-were given ' an opportunity to be heard. ;~ 4. The comments and analysis of the City Staff and the Planning Commission minutes and recommendation ;~ wereconsidered. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED-by the;.Counci.l of the City of New Brighton that the ,following Findings of Fact. are made in respect to VN-199. 1. `The property is located i_n a B-3, General Business. zoning district. 2, The :general purpose of-the sign ordinance is to promote '~ sound identification, reduction of clutter and ' aesthetic enhancement.. 3. That the street frontage is 84 percent of the required l00 feet and the applicant. is requesting 5'0 percent of the permissible signage area of the 100 feet. ', 4. That a single ground sign as proposed would provide sound identification and would be compatiable with the general area, , BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application VN-199 is hereby approved subject to the following conditions: 1. That the ground sign contain tenant name and/or logo only; 2. That-such ground sign shall, not exceed 32.5 square ,feet in area nor l2 feet in height, .and shall have a minimum setback of 1C~~feet'from Mississippi Street;
