OF REVIEW I <br />RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RECOMMENDING APPROVAL <br />OF VARIANCE APPLICATION VN-199. <br />.WHEREAS, an application fora Variance VN-199 has'been <br />.made by Real Five, Inc, to permit the installation of 32.5 <br />sq, ft, ground sign. in a B-3 General.Business district with <br />a street yard of 84.03 feet. <br />WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as <br />follows <br />1. That an applicatontor a variance VN-199 was filed- <br />wth the City. of New Frighton on December 8, 1978. <br />2, That the.-Board of Review heard and reviewed the <br />application at its meeting on December 19, 1978. <br />3 . The written comments and ana lys is of the City Planner <br />and all person's statements .made at theā¢Board of <br />Review meeting-were considered. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by .the Board of Review that <br />the following Findings of Fact are made in respect to VN-T99'. <br />1. The ro ert is located in a B-3 Genera 1 Business <br />P P Y <br />zoning district. <br />2. The general purpose ofthesign ordinance is to ~` <br />promote sound identification, reduction of clutter <br />and aesthetic enhancement: <br />3. .That the street footage is 84 percent of the <br />required 100 feet and the applicant. is requesting <br />50 percent of the permissible signage area of the. <br />100 feet. <br />4. That a single ground sign as proposed would. provide <br />sound identification and would be compatiable with <br />the genera 1 area . <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the application VN-199 <br />is hereby recommended for approval subject to the following <br />conditions: <br />1) That the ground sign contain tenant name and/or logo <br />only; <br />2) That such ground sign shall not exceed 33 square feet I <br />in area-nor 12 feet in height, and shall have a ! <br />minimum setback of ten (10) feet from Mississippi St; <br />3) That no wall signs be allowed on the east and west <br />walls; <br />4) That- the applicant submit a detailed drawing of. the ~ <br />proposed .ground sign showing size, location, material" <br />of construction and design features that indicate <br />compatibility with-the building and surrounding area.. ~' <br />Adopted this 19 day of December 1978. <br />ATTEST: Richard Brown, Chairman <br />~' <br />Jo M.
