<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council, was <br />held Tuesday, June 23, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue <br />NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Blomquist, Brandt, and Gunderman <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Williams <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: <br /> <br />Henry Sinda, City Manager <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br />Gary Berger, Administrative Assistant <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br /> <br />Council Mi nutes <br /> <br />Brandt asked that page six of the minutes of June 9, 1987, be cor- <br />rected to indicate the light on Silver Lake Road and Windsor Green <br />should be replaced with a higher intensity bulb. <br /> <br />As there were no further changes, Brandt moved, seconded by <br />Gunderman, to WAIVE THE READING AND APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE <br />JUNE 9, 1987, COUNCIL MEETING AS CORRECTED. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Howard Wallin, President of Twin City Christian Homes, presented <br />council with a plaque of appreciation for the City's interest, co- <br />operation and patience in the development of Brightondale <br />Residence, Inc.; Wallin indicated project is in the ground, with <br />the opening scheduled for February 2, 1987. <br /> <br />Mayor Benke read his letter to all New Brighton residents updating <br />them on the water contamination lawsuit and stated the letter <br />would be sent to all residents. <br /> <br />Benke summarized the letter by indicating the council has been and <br />will continue working with staff in the evaluation of the propos- <br />al; emphasized a decision has not been made; would hope to do so <br />sometime this Fall; the process beyond that will take some time; <br />we are nearing one milestone, but there are several left to go. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist, to APPROVE THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA ITEMS AS FOllOWS: <br /> <br />1.
