<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 9, 1987 <br /> <br />Williams further stated he felt perhaps there could be a coopera- <br />tive venture with the business community and we could seek assist- <br />ance from other foundations. <br /> <br />Benke noted this might be a possible IIpilot projectll consistent <br />with Williams suggestion; asked that it be referred to the Market- <br />i ng ,Commi ttee for further revi ew; and asked the balance of the <br />council to present any suggestions they may have to the Committee. <br /> <br />Brandt noted the west side of the Windsor Green/Silver Lake Road <br />crossing is in New Brighton while the east side is in St. Anthony. <br />Brandt: (1) suggested, replacing the existing light with a bulb <br />of brighter intensity; (2) as the striping done in April is still <br />too far north to be visible when approaching from the south, sug- <br />gested the county be asked to add a parallel crossing stripe or <br />extend the existing stripe; (3) noted the Police Chief has recom- <br />mended that a light be installed on the St. Anthony side, and <br />asked City Manager to contact St. Anthony officially to request <br />this; and (4) recommended the crossing be marked with a sign (sug- <br />gested staff research this and report back to council). <br /> <br />Motion by Brandt, seconded by Williams, to DIRECT STAFF TO TAKE <br />THE APPROPRIATE MEASURES TO EFFECTUATE COUNCILMEMBERS BRANDT'S <br />SUGGESTIONS FOR THE WINDSOR GREEN STREET PROBLEM. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Brandt reviewed the council 's participation in Stockyard Days on <br />Saturday and Sunday.
