I I .1 Council Meeting Minutes March 24, 1987 Lukerman felt the city needs to become more aggressive in terms of marketing its assets, and it needs to increase its marketing effort on part of the city and the Economic Development Commis- sion; and noted a very large portion of permits in the area are for expansion of those already here. Lukerman sees the location, visibility, traffic, attitude of the community, and insistence on quality development as being highly marketable. In response to Benke's comment, Gair indicated he would be avail- able to the city as we get into marketing activities and that we would have access to his diagrams available for its literature. Brandt commented on the quality of the presentation and felt it was one of the most interesting, best organized, and best illus- trated presentations she has seen. Announcements and Updates Benke announced the marketing committee had rescheduled today's meeting. Benke announced on Wednesday, April 8, 1987, the Northern Mayor's Association will be meeting at Robert Lee's to discuss a marketing activity for the entire northern area. Following a discussion, it was determined the City Hall Open House would be held on Tuesday, May 12, 1987. Berger, Sinda, and Mayor Benke will be meeting to clarify specific details. In response to Gunderman's request, it was further determined that student councils would be given a tour of city hall on May 12th and May 26th. Gunderman announced the history books and pictures have been dis- tributed to all schools, including those in St. Anthony.
