<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 10, 1987 <br /> <br />Council Business, continued <br /> <br />Goepel updated council on centennial activities: Stockyard Days <br />will have a rodeo this year; prior to that will put together a <br />significant program for City Hall dedication; working to get <br />natioanl participation in an Antique Car Rally on August 30, <br />1987. <br /> <br />Benke understand White Bear lake is working on a similar kind of <br />event (car rally) about the same time, suggested Goepel contact <br />them to coordinate. <br /> <br />Gunderman believes Goepel did an outstanding job with Governor <br />Perpich (during Pike Lake Elementary School Day, February 26, <br />1987); he committed himself to ride a horse in the rodeo and <br />drive a car in the car rally. <br /> <br />Egan had no additional comments for the staff report concerning <br />financing for Tax Increment Project #11. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FINANCING FOR TAX INCREMENT PRO- <br />JECT #11. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Egan stated the League of Minnesota Cities has put together a <br />program similar to the American National Bank; the benefit to <br />the city is that the rates are comparable. <br /> <br />Benke stated the it will also help maximize cash flow; Egan <br />confirmed. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Brandt, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 87-1 TO INCLUDE THE <br />MINNESOTA LEAGUE OF CITIES AS A DESIGNATED INSTITUTION THROUGH <br />WHICH THE CITY MAY PURCHASE AUTHORIZED INVESTMENTS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />With regard to the staff report for a new Water Department Van, <br />Proper explained this is a replacement van. <br /> <br />In reviewing the maintenance activities on the old van, Benke <br />questioned whether or not a replacement van was required at this <br />time; Proper indicated an economic life has been placed on all <br />vehicles.
