<br />LP-147 <br />Page #.3 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION CONSIDERATION - May 17, 1983 <br />Planning Commission considered the application for LP-147 on May 17, <br />1983 and the minutes for that meeting are as follows. <br />The Director of Community Development reviewed the staff report and <br />staff recommendation. <br />Mr. Les Mateffy, applicant, was present to answer questions. <br />Chairman Williams questioned what the time table would be for the <br />addition to the building. <br />Mr. Mateffy replied that they are estimating the building would be <br />expanded in approximately 3 years. <br />Chairman Williams questioned whether.it would be a problem if the <br />new building were actually built,where the existing residential uses are <br />now located. <br />Mr. Mateffy indicated that it would create a problem in that it is not <br />programed to do that at this time. <br />Commissioner Weaver questioned if the building would be built for a <br />specific use or built for s.peculation. <br />Mr. Mateffy stated that the building would be used for Mateffy <br />Engineering. <br />Commissioner Weaver questioned whether Mateffy Engineering would occupy <br />the whole building. <br />Mr. Mateffy stated that they now occupy over 3,000 square feet and they <br />would aniticipate using all of this building. <br />Commissioner Baker questioned why the residential use could not be <br />eliminated as it is a non-conformity. <br />The Director of Community Development reviewed the Type II and Type IV <br />Non-conformity regulations. <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated that he felt the occupants of this office <br />building would also like to see that home removed and that he felt <br />this would help in the eventual elimination of the non-conforming <br />residential use. <br />Commissioner Helgeson stated she felt overall this was a very good <br />use for this piece of property and would be very good for the city. <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Weaver to recommend approval of LP-147 <br />subject to the, following conditions:
