<br />~ <br />~ ~ ~+ <br />I~ <br />.,~ <br />LJ <br />L~ <br />74mts'i. <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />..STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING THE STATUS OF LONG LAKE PARK <br />C~J2?F..'REAS the City of New Srighton has purchased 109 <br />acres of land designated as potential regional open space, <br />and <br />6~7f?T'RF'AS ithe City of New Brighton desires its resit~ents <br />to have ttn opportunity to utilize this land, and <br />'~IHEREAS the County has been designated implementing <br />agency for regional parks in Ramsey County, and <br />t^THERFAS the Metropolitan Council htt.s set aside de- <br />veloprnent funds, and <br />1 <br />j WHFRFP.S those funds are rapidly declining in purchasirn <br />power, and <br />t~%2IrFI;AS the City is award that the County has re- <br />quested operation and maintenance funding from the Metro- <br />politan Council, and <br />s ~~'HEREAS there l.s likely to be a delay of several years <br />before this issue is resolved, and <br />WHEREAS the City and '.tae County entered into a joint <br />~pro-ject agreement for planning o~ this facility in February <br />1977, ttnc~ <br />WHEREAS the City is attempting to determine its role <br />in clevPl.onment, maintenance sand operation of this facility, <br />I~TI?I"2'r~A the Ramsey County Iloarc3 l~.tts 9_n.dt_ f finitely de- <br />ferred action on committing the County to operation of a <br />regional park system, <br />2fU?-7 TI-2~:;F.EFORE BE IT RESOLVED that thc~ City Council. of <br />Pvew ~3righton indicates its willingness to c~.er~~te and main- <br />tain this regional facility and requests f3E•:sictnation as an <br />implc~~enting agency, and <br />Fsi: IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the Metropolitan <br />Council does not so designate the City, that tre City with- <br />draws its request for inclusion of Long Lake P~-~rl~: into the <br />regional park system. <br />Adopted this day of February 1981. <br />R.FP FOVED <br />ATTEST: James W.
