July 15, 1981 Park Board Mintues Page g
Solberg said we are`not stupid, wish you weren't so condescending
Polzak apologized.
Carlson stated 'that the Park Board is an advisory group.
Polzak said he is not trying to be condescending` butis dismayed.
These documents are totally unacceptable. You will have Boards
in total disagreement.
Polzak stated there is no alternative if the Council approves the
joint powers agreement but forhim to seek an injunction.
Solberg asked 'Polzak if that is what he wants; an injunction.
Polzak said no, but there will be no other choice.
Polzak°said talk to a lawyer, he wants to help. The joint powers
agreement is 'totally unacceptable.' You should have more input
from us. Apologize for not participating more in the past. We
don't want to go to the wall
Gunderman asked Polzak if he is willing to help. Would like to
know how you will help. Will you give concerns? Respect your
opinion and input. Want to know in'a positive way your concerns.
Polzak said he will write his opinion to the Long Lake Improveme
Association, who can bring it to the Park Board. Want to recommend
to the Park Board that an involvement group be formed not just
one or two persons and also bring-in other interested persons other
than on the lake.
Gunderman stated we`have'done that.- We need documentation as what
you mean-by help by listing your concerns. That would bevery
helpful. The Park Board is advisory. From day one have worked
with citizens. We have a good park system. We work together, not
only homeowners but everyone in the City.
Polzak said he is willing to help. Apologize for lack of partici-
pation in.the past but have a good 'group here. Resources are
available.. He told Anderson he was sorry for Anderson's opinion
of Breckenridge. He doesn't want to design the park. He's willing
to give data on what's"over there,-`willing to?give study without
impact. He is a well known man.
Gunderman said there is the inference that we did not accept
Bredkenridge as a resource person. 'He'will be one but not the
only one. No one questions his credibility.
Polzak said the homeowners`were`understanding from Anderson's
comments that he criticized Breckenridge's credentials and that
is not necessary. In the`role'of member of the Association,
legal member of the City and tax payer he objects to what is
happening.
