July 1,.1981 Park Board Minutes
Page. 13
Gunderman mentioned that the Lions Club donated $1,000 fo.r a
braiT trail.
Anderson suggested putting an ad in the paper and .select people
from those interested.
Dahl said we could also send letters to the organizations such
as the Lions, Jaycees, Elks, Eagles, League of Women Voters,
Church groups, etc.
Gunderman asked. how. big the committee should be.
Dahl said three Long Lake residents, three nor.-Long Lake. residents,
and three Park Board members.
Commers asked if the ad would be in the New Brighton Bulletin.
Gunderman responded yes.
Gunderman asked how we will choose if we end up with 7 interested
people.
Cook. said to select from various quadrants.
Anderson said to have people .submit a letter and pick that way.
Schmidt said there is a process and form used when someone wants
to be on a Board or Commission. That could be used to screen.
Anderson said using that procedure would suffice.
Carlson, Dahl, Olson volunteered to act as representatives from
the Park Board. Grimshaw and Hogan said they would be alternates.
Commers asked how .the form would be used.
Gunderman said we could get a background of the person.
Gunderman suggested that those already chosen to represent the
Long Lake Improvement Assn. fill out the form also.
Commers asked when it would be published in the Bulletin.
Anderson said not this week.
Gunderman said not until the Council approves it.
Commers said that Ramsey County said fencing would be started
in September.
Anderson said no. They are terribly optimistic. .
Carlson asked if the Park. Board will see the final joint powers
agreement after it goes to the Council.
Schmidt said it depends on two motions. It should come to the
Council and adopted and then the City Attorney will look at it.
