July 1, 1981 Park Board Minutes Page 14 B. .Park Board 1982 Budget Request Anderson said if there are any request for memberships or conferences. it should be put. in the budget. Anything for self improvement will be well received by the Council to make it better. for. staff. Gunderman said he .was disappointed to see the workshop was cancelled do to lack. of interest.. Anderson said part of the reason for the cancellation was the Boards and Commissions had to pay their own way. Schmidt said if you have something specific ask for it. Gunderman said he feels it. would be a tremendous opportunity to attend the State and National Conferences. Anderson said the State Conference would cost about $150-$200. The National Conference would be $600-$1,000.. Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Tan Hatten, to send two to the State and two to the National Conference. Motion passed. Commers asked if the applications received from the ad in the paper would be reviewed by the Park Board. Gunderman responded yes. If there aren't enough applications, there will not be a meeting. Commers asked if the funding for the park will come from Met Council after the master plan is drawn up. Anderson said yes. ~7I. --Old BU~~:r-less - A. 4th of July Anderson has set up a map with infromation for the walking tour. The maps will be available at the information booth. The stakes for the walking tour will be put in tomorrow, the signs in on Friday. B. Downtown Development Was discussed earlier in the meeting. C. Donation Use (.Basic Industries & Micom) Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Carlson, to have a puppet .wagon with the donation money. Motion passed. Carlson said he would be happy to appear at the Council meeting if necessary.. Schmidt said to do the .puppet wagon if that's what you want but do whatever else needed to be done.
