It will be done with New Brighton input through meetings
and any way to get info to the staff. Anderson added that the
concept plan already drawn up will be a basis for the master plan.
Commers asked if there could be changes.
Anderson said changes could be made. The water-based activities
such as the beach and boat launch will be hard to change. There
is lack of water-based activities in the Twin Cities area. Chances
of this disappearing is not likely.
Commers asked if the petition with s.ix hundred some signatures had
been sent out with Anderson's letter.
Anderson stated the petition was received after his letter went
out.
Commers said Mark Mathews stated New Brighton would be drawing up
the master plan and we could express our feelings as to the input.
Gunderman stated that one thing the Park Board has always done is
use resident expertise in these things wherever there is room for
comment.
Anderson said that Mathews was wrong, it will be the County staff.
who prepares the plan.
Carlson said the input to the plan comes from us and the physical
drawing is done by Ramsey County.
Commers asked who they should talk to to give their input.
Anderson said the Park Board will have to make that decision tonight.
We need communication from residents in an organized way.
Commers asked Elaine Schuessler of 1657 14th Ave. NW to give the
Park Board background information on Mr. Brechenwridge who has
been working with their organization. .
Schuessler. stated his background was in art and has done habitat
exhibits at the Bell Museum and consulted on nurrer~us projects.
Neil Reed of 18th St. stated that they go through the meetings but
does it do any good?
