July 1, 1981 Park Board Minutes Page 12 Amendment by Johnson, seconded by Van Hatten, that the first sentence in number seven be changed to have the word "terminate." replaced with the words "shall be renegotiated" and in the fourtY• line the words "unless the" be replaced with "at which time this" and the word "is" be replaced with the words "will be", and delete the last sentence. Van Hatten did not like the wording of number 7 where it referred to the December 31, 1981 date. Amendment by Van Hatten, to change the word "upon" to "after" in the first sentence of number 7. Amendment failed for lack of second. Original amendment passed. Original motion passed. Anderson said the petition and letter should be officially accepted by the Park Board. Motion by Dahl, seconded by Carlson, to accept the letter and petition from the Long Lake Improvement Association. Motion passed. Gunderman asked what the committee should look like. Dahl said two Park Board members, two Long Lake residents, and two non-Long Lake residents. Need a nucleus but don't want to have it too big. Each group should have a way to get the infor- mation back to the Park Board. • Van Hatten asked what was the purpose of the group. Gunderman said to get input from the residents. Carlson suggested having at least one person from the original groups formed earlier. Anderson said the groups were from the Long Lake surface use meetings. Carlson said he had forgotten that. Gunderman said one group of Long Lake Improvement resident and previous gr~ group. Johnson suggested having Women Voters represented could be Pat Commers and Marv Cook Association and Jim Borgstrom, a pup member for the Long Lake surface organizations such as the League of and perhaps the Jaycees. Dahl asked how to go about identifying these people. Anderson stated that some of the organizations don't always have New Brighton boundaries and there are so many, where would we • stop.
