There is only one type of spacenet. May want <br />to look at a puppet wagon and sound system to be used this summer. <br />The money would go primarily for materials. <br />Carlson asked if this. is something the Department would really like. <br />Anderson said yes. <br />Carlson said he knows Maplewood's is well used. <br />Motion by Carlson, seconded by Grimshaw, to use the $1,000 Micom <br />gift for a puppet wagon, <br />Van Hatten stated he was not against it but wondered if this was <br />something that just came up off the top of your head. <br />Anderson said no; it has been discussed before. <br />Motion passed, Johnson abstained. <br />C. Long Lake Park (Verbal Update) <br />Carlson asked if the fencing at Long Lake would be done this year. <br />Anderson said yes. The only question is with negotiations with <br />Ramsey County and .Met Council. <br />Carlson asked if .the entire Regional Park would be fenced. <br />Anderson said no, just the New ,Brighton portion. <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Dahl., to publicly thank the <br />Mayor and Council persons. for getting the Long Lake issue back <br />into perspective.. Motion passed. All ayes. <br />Gunderman said he would send a letter to that affect. <br />Schmidt commented that the Council approved the Long Lake Resolution <br />and sent it to Ramsey County so that it-can be sent on to the Metro- <br />politan Council. The Council has taken a much stronger position in <br />getting involved with Long Lake.- <br />Johnson stated there was no mention of the length of time we will <br />give them. <br />Gunderman said he feels the same way but the time causes a negative <br />effect. <br />
