NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES FEBRUARY 3, 1981 I. The meeting was called to order by Vice--Chairperson Dahl. II. Members present: Carlson, Dahl, Grimshaw, Johnson, Olson, Solberg, Van Hatten, Council Representative Steve Schmidt. Members absent: Gunderman, Hogan III. DZinutes of January 7,_1981 meeting were approved as submitted. Correction to December meeting: Date of meeting was listed as December 4, 1979 on the minutes; should be December 3, 1979. IV. Correspondence A. Council Report New Council Representative Steve Schmidt reported on the status of CIP items discussed at the Council meeting. Schmidt stated that the Public Safety Building and Liquor Store are still unresolved. Downtown development agreement has been executed but whether or not a hotel goes up affects the Liquor Store. Park items approved are: Park Signing $ 5,000 Sunny Sq. Play Area $25,000 Long Lake Site Work $10,000 Other Park CIP items were deferred. Schmidt also convnented that ~t the Community Leaders Workshop the Mayor. will relay information on~:the status of the City. Each Council member will report on a topic.... - The topics of discussion are: Cable TV, Long Lake Park; Liquor Store, Public Safety Building and .Downtown Development. A luncheon at Robert Lees is planned after the Community Leaders Workshop on .February 28th.- Schmidt stated that invitations would be sent. B. Gary & Melodie Bankers Anderson stated he had been `communicating with the Bankers' and the City Attorney for about 6 months regarding the possibility of the Bankers' purchasing a piece of property on the Golf Course (land just before the 1st tee). It is of no use to the City but Anderson's concern. was that we would be setting a precedent for future requests. Solberg asked how long the loan agreement is held for. Anderson said there is a 20 year lease with 16 years to go.
