J. A. LANG
1400 - i STH ST. N.W.
NEW BRIGHTON. MINN. 55112
10 August 1980
Mr. Maurice Anderson, Director
Parks & Recreation Department
1975 Silver Lake Road
New Brighton, Minnesota 55112
Ref Long Lake Surface Use Ordinance
Dear Mr. Anderson;
Power boats have repeatedly operated less than 100 feet
from the shoreline this boating season, and frequently violate
other provisions of the ordinance. Boats have had propellers
plow into the lake bottom within 15 feet of my property, and
on one occasion the skier being towed caught bis ski in the mud
and actually landed on my lawn.
The wake from this close to shore operation has washed
away almost all of my beach sand, and since the recent 2 inch
rainfall, has commenced to undercut the grass at the shoreline.
Since the ordinance is being violated consistantly and
is not being enforced, I am requesting that marker buoys be
placed at intervals in Long Lake 100 feet out from my shore-
line. This action will aid In preventing further destruction
to my property.
I will appreciate your consideration of this request,
and I will be available to appear at the next Park Board meet-
ing if you desire further information on this matter.
Very truly yours,
. A• Lang
