NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 12, 1980 <br />~I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />II. Members present: Carlson,. Dahl, Grimshaw~, Gunderman, Hogan, Johnson, <br />Olson arrived at 10:30 p.m. <br />Members absent: Solberg, Van Hatten <br />III. Minutes of October 1, 1980 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Benke informed the Park Board of discussion at the budget hearing. <br />He stated that as a result of the Council's action there should be <br />additional funds available for the CIP. <br />Benke stated that the Long Lake item was on the Council agenda. <br />He feels it is too early for a decision. There are alot of holes <br />in the plan and he has alot of questions. • <br />Anderson stated the issue of ownership and operation was yet to <br />be decided. <br />Benke stated that's something that had been, left open and there- <br />fore needs further discussion. <br />Anderson feels the County should make--a proposal to us. He feels <br />the ..item should not be discussed further until the City receives <br />a formal proposal from the County Board. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Facilities Use Policy <br />Pam Schmitz discussed the proposed policy regarding facilities use <br />with the Park Board. She explained-'the policy was necessary be- <br />cause of increased school use by the Department and individual <br />groups. She stated she would like to ,give more groups•a chance to <br />use the schools with a consistant policy being followed.: The policy <br />is based on the School Districts policy and Regulations 1330 and goes <br />one step further by defining residence as 75% live or work in NB. <br />Gunderman asked if Community Education. would Have a problem with <br />our policy. <br />Schmitz said no because we will be in control and handle all the <br />obligations and risks. <br />Carlson stated this policy is necessary so that we can take a stand. <br />Motion by Carlson, seconded by Gunderman, to approve the proposal. <br />• Motion passed. <br />
