NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES NOVEMBER 12, 1980 ~I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. II. Members present: Carlson,. Dahl, Grimshaw~, Gunderman, Hogan, Johnson, Olson arrived at 10:30 p.m. Members absent: Solberg, Van Hatten III. Minutes of October 1, 1980 meeting were approved as submitted. IV. Correspondence A. Council Report Benke informed the Park Board of discussion at the budget hearing. He stated that as a result of the Council's action there should be additional funds available for the CIP. Benke stated that the Long Lake item was on the Council agenda. He feels it is too early for a decision. There are alot of holes in the plan and he has alot of questions. • Anderson stated the issue of ownership and operation was yet to be decided. Benke stated that's something that had been, left open and there- fore needs further discussion. Anderson feels the County should make--a proposal to us. He feels the ..item should not be discussed further until the City receives a formal proposal from the County Board. V. New Business A. Facilities Use Policy Pam Schmitz discussed the proposed policy regarding facilities use with the Park Board. She explained-'the policy was necessary be- cause of increased school use by the Department and individual groups. She stated she would like to ,give more groups•a chance to use the schools with a consistant policy being followed.: The policy is based on the School Districts policy and Regulations 1330 and goes one step further by defining residence as 75% live or work in NB. Gunderman asked if Community Education. would Have a problem with our policy. Schmitz said no because we will be in control and handle all the obligations and risks. Carlson stated this policy is necessary so that we can take a stand. Motion by Carlson, seconded by Gunderman, to approve the proposal. • Motion passed.
