October 1, 1980 Park Board Minutes Page 6 <br />Van Hatten stated he would not be able to attend the meeting next <br />month. <br />Gunderman also had a conflict.. <br />Anderson stated he would have a hard time getting things .together <br />because of a conference he will be returning from. <br />Motion by Van Hatten, seconded by Dahl:, that the November ..1st Park <br />Board meeting be changed to November 12th. Motion passed. <br />Gunderman stated he would like the Comprehensive Plan as the main <br />theme. of the. meeting. <br />Benke stated there should be a Park Board representative at the <br />Countil meeting - the Comprehensive Plan may be discussed. <br />Gunderman asked if anyone could make it to the. meeting. <br />Dahl stated she would be there. <br />Anderson stated some of the. information the Council was concerned <br />about is included in a memo recently sent to .the City Manager. <br />Benke stated the question of why the parks are being redone will <br />more than likely .come up at the Council meeting. <br />Gunderman stated for the. same reason the highways are redone. Over <br />the years., things .need. changes. <br />Dahl stated the question. was not redoing. We are not redoing, we <br />are upgrading. <br />Gunderman stated when the parking. .lots were put in that was up- <br />grading. The only thing he feels was a mistake was the Hansen <br />tennis courts being put in on .unstable ground, <br />Johnson feels it is important"to .:state the Park Board's philosophy <br />on a cover sheet for the Comprehensive Plan. <br />VII. Announcements <br />A. 198.1 Budget & CIP Hearing 10/7/80. <br />Anderson stated he fel it.was imperative that the ,Park Board state <br />their concerns now because the money is limited. Whatever feelings <br />the Park Board has - this is the _time to express-them. <br />Benke asked Anderson if the fencing for Long-Lake was discussed, <br />Shou d it be considered in the budget. <br />Dah stated the money is budgeted. for 1981. <br />Grimshaw felt that perhaps a special meeting would be needed for <br />the Comprehensive Park Plan. <br />
