May 7, 198-0 Park Board Minutes Page 6 B. Review Grading Plans Silver Oak The developer, Cadwallader. was present. Anderson gave some background on the project. The Council approved the preliminary PRD of the site with a stipulation that the Park Board be given .final approval of the site plan.. There has been a slight reduction of size but causes no problem. The plan has been cheek by City'Engineering and the City Planner. Cadwallader reviewed the site plans with the Board. Anderson c~uestoned.access to the parking-lot. Cadwallader stated there was an access but it was not on the map. Van Hatten asked if the existing hard surface area will be removed. Cadwallader stated no. Van Hatten questioned the north edge of the tennis courts.. Does the retaining wall extend to the end? Cadwallader stated there will be a 4 foot drop. Van Hatten didn't understand why the tennis courts were so far from the boundary-line. Cadwallader stated if they were any closer-the slope would be steeper and may go into the other property. Anderson said he feels-comfortable with the tennis courts being 30 feet from the. boundary line because they will be next to the private residence and the further away the better. Carlson. asked what the 4 foot retaining wall would be like. Cadwallader said that wood stacked. into the hill works best for drainage. Anderson. stated they have-had the best success with the-wood re- taining walls. Carlson said he just wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be the same problem that occurred at Sunny Square. Motion by Dahl, seconded by Van Hatter, to accept Silver Oak grading plan as submitted. Motion passed.. C. Goals and Objectives.. Committee Notes Van Hatter stated he had his list of facilities in the New B~~:ghton area listed and asked what-the next step was. It was suggested that he make a chart and submit that.
