January 2, 1"980 Park Board Minutes <br />Page 3 <br />Bl.omquist stated the cost sharing has not been discussed. <br />Anderson asked Proper and DeBened et what the time restraints <br />were and cahere it does from here.. <br />Proper stated his concern was that buildins;s weren`t being <br />built that caould be subject to flooding. <br />DeBenedet stated if the plan was approved by the Council <br />there was no need for it to come back again. <br />Gunderman-asked if it is possible for building to begin <br />without approval? <br />DeBenedit e Tlottechnicall, <br />Kern asked if a ballfield could be put in? <br />Anderson responded that almost anything could be put in <br />the park. <br />Grimshaw asked if the slope ~n~oulcl hinder any of the activi- <br />ties if graded. <br />Proper felt it would be more feasible if graded. <br />Dahl stated she was not comfortable making recommendations <br />until talking with the residents. Pdeed other"grading <br />alternatives. . <br />Anderson stated the Park Board should make a final decision <br />in March and give DeBenedit time to talk with Ernst on <br />sharing cost or other options. Ernst should come back to <br />Park Board with what might be an acceptable plan. <br />DeBenedit stated Ernst~is willing to come back to the Park <br />Board with a plan but is in a difficult position with satis- <br />fying the I^tatershed District requirements and keeping his <br />shopping center from flooding: <br />Carlson asked if ..the, pond could be put on the shopping <br />center site. <br />Gunderman feels the Park. Board is not responsible for com- <br />promising. Must look at this as;a Park Board. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by.tiaestling, that the Park Board <br />meet with residents in February and make a final decision <br />on the RCE property in March. Look at all options at the <br />February meeting with residents. Motion passed, <br />Johnson suggested getting; information out to residents <br />similar to the material that went out regarding the trail <br />system. He felt that was a good job and it could be done <br />again. <br />
