• Park Board P![inutes -7-~ Decerr~ber 5, 1979 <br />Johnson opposed to any lots an the east side of the <br />park _ no opposition to any housing on the southeast <br />corner. <br />Dahl opposed to the lots on the northeast part where <br />sho~m on plans. <br />Gunderman stated he appreciates that the developer <br />gave park space. Does not want homes on Oakwood. <br />Maybe other alternatives for development to make it <br />economical but the park is important. Trot comfortable <br />with the way it has been proposed. <br />Johnson felt it was important to restate that the <br />minimum requirement set for a park is 5®7 acres. <br />5. Delineation of boundaries for the park property <br />I~iayne Leverkuhn asked if the three houses stay, is <br />plan #3 the best? <br />Gunderman stated he would like to see if there is <br />another plan for the homes. <br />Dahl recommended boundaries approximately 15. feet <br />east of the tennis courts. <br />Gunderman stated that if adjustments are made, many <br />changes would result. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Olson, that the boundary <br />line, about 15 feet north of the school, be extended <br />straight down east) and that the northernmost <br />boundary line existing on the plan be eliminated. <br />Motion passed. <br />B. Comprehensive Park Plan <br />Staff made a brief presentation requesting direction from <br />the Park Board as to how to begin the planning process. <br />The Board stated that due to the lateness of the hour they <br />preferred to wait until the January meeting. <br />C. Update/Long Lake Park <br />Anderson stated that he had spoke to Margaret '1'hut•pe of the <br />Ramsey County Executive Directors ~tfice. She has not been <br />given much information on Long LaJce/Rush Lake Park but is <br />looking at funding operation and maintenance of all regional <br />parks. She stated she does not have much to work from be- <br />cause of lack of data from Ramsey County. She said the <br />county is concerned caith the potential of a regional parks <br />taxing system for operation and maintenance. She feels <br />the County Board needs good solid data to base their de- <br />cision on and that more information is being requested <br />from the county staff. <br />
