Park Board Minutes -6- December 5, 1979 <br />r%[otion by Dahl, seconded by Olson, that if the pro- <br />posal must require homes then the proposal with the <br />three single family homes and, moving the sliding hill <br />to the north be the one recommended. Motion passed. <br />(Johnson nave) <br />4. Examine the funtional activities of the park, specific- <br />ally-present winter activities <br />Grimshaw felt that if the three single family homes <br />stayed in the proposal then the developer. should make <br />sliding hill similar to the existing hill. Something <br />will also have to be done with the existing hill so it <br />cannot be used for sliding. <br />Resident asked if a new sliding hill could be built <br />with the P.R.D. built as proposed. <br />Cadwallader responded yes. <br />Olson stated tY~at she preferred that the three single <br />family homes were not there but if they were necessary, <br />c7e should determine whether sliding hill can be moved <br />north. If yes, then three homes were reasonable. Old <br />hill should be ~u~t cut of use.Want to see slidin¢ hill <br />in any plan that is approved. <br />Johnson felt that the sliding. hill cannot be redesigned. <br />.Grade is nowhere rear That other hill is. <br />Dahl asked how big of a project it Gaould be to move <br />play equipment. <br />Staff replied litt~.e cost involved but a great deal <br />of labor is required. <br />Resident asked where people caill walk if hill is moved <br />to the nctth. <br />Cadwallader stated that in making the hill~it can be <br />..changed for slope or path. <br />Resident asked how aide the sliding area is now. <br />Response was approximately 100 feet. <br />Resident then asked if a 100 foot wide sliding area <br />was large enough with the three new P.R.D.9s being <br />completed in the area. <br />Grimshaw wanted to emphasize that the Park Board felt <br />strongly that the housin` units be eliminated from the <br />. proposal. <br />Olson agreed that she did not want the houses. <br />Glestling a7 so wanted all houses eliminated. <br />
