ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING SURFACE USE OF LONG LAKE The Council of the City of New Brighton does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. Chapter 19 of .the New Brighton City Code is ;hereby amended by adding thereto Article III, Long Lake Surface Use which shall read as follows: Sec. 19-30. Definitions. For the purposes of this Chapter,. the following words and phrases sha-11 have the meaning respectively ascribed to them: Wake: Is any disturbance of the water caused by a .motor-powered watercraft operating in excess of closed throttle or in excess of 5 MPH. ! No Wake: Is the disturbance in the water, if'any, caused by-non-motorized watercraft or motorized watercraft operating at closed throttle or less than ! 5 MPH. Sec. 19-31. No Wake Zones. , I a. A-no wake zone is hereby established on the sur- I((~ face of Long. Lake to cover all waters within 100. feet of the shoreline except as modified by author- ized bouys. ~ - b. A no wake zone is established .over the entire lake when the-water elevation of the lake is 866 feet or more above mean sea level. c. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake from 10:00 p.m. on Friday of each weekend through 7:00 a.m. on Monday; except during the hours of i 1:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on each Saturday and 1:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on each Sunday._ ~ d. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake on all legal holidays commencing at 10:00 p.m. on the evening preceding the observed holiday and terminating at 7:00 a.m, on the day following. the observed holiday; except that period of time be- ' tween 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the observed holiday. ',Sec. 19-32. Prohibited Wake. No person shall operate a motor-powered watercraft in ' the no wake zone in such. a manner as will create a wake. Sec. 19-33. Boat Launching.
