ORDINANCE N0. <br />AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING SURFACE <br />USE OF LONG LAKE <br />The Council of the City of New Brighton does hereby <br />ordain as follows;: <br />Section 1. Chapter .lg of the New Brighton City Code is <br />hereby amended by adding thereto Article III, Long Lake <br />Surface Use which shall read as follows: <br />Sec. ~g-3C. Definitions. <br />For the purposes of this Chapter, the following words <br />and phrases shall have the meaning respectively ascribed <br />to them: <br />Wake: Is any disturbance of the water caused by a <br />motor--powered watercraft operating in excess of <br />closed throttle. <br />No tr'ake : Is the disturbance in the water, ii any <br />caused by nonm::~otorized watercraft or notarized <br />watercraft operating at closed throttle. <br />Sec . 1.g-31. No TnTake Zones . <br />a. A no wake zone is hereby established on the sur-~ <br />face of` Long Lake to cover a11. waters within 7.OC <br />feet of the shore7_ine except as modified by author- <br />ized bout's. <br />b. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake <br />when the water elevation of the lake is ~~~ feet <br />or more above mean sea leve?_. <br />c. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake <br />from 1.O:GC p.m. on Friday of each weekend through <br />7:OC a.m. on i~ionday; except during the hours of <br />1;CC:~ p.n. through 7:OG p.m. on each Saturday and <br />~:CG p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on each Sunday. <br />d. A no wake zone is established over the ent~_re lake <br />on all ? egal holidays commencing at 1C' ; C>G p .m. on <br />the evening preceding the observed holiday and <br />terminating at 7:00 a.m. on the day following the <br />observed holiday; except that period o~' time be- <br />tween 1.:00 p.rn. and 7:OC p.m. on the observed <br />holiday. <br />Sec, 19-32. Prohibited Wake. <br />No person shall operate a motor-powered watercraft so <br />as to cause a wake in any of the no wake zones as set out <br />herein above. <br />See. 1g-33. Boat Launching. <br />No person shall launch a-boat or beach a• boat n.y place <br />on the shore other than at designated areas or private <br />property with the ownerts permission. <br />Sec.
