~' ~ RESOLUTION OF THE LONG LAKE HOME OWNERS <br />ASSOCLATION MEETING OF JANUARY 19, 1978 <br />At a meeting of the Lonq Lake Home Owners Association on <br />,7anuary 19, 1978, the membership considered the "Long Lake Concept <br />Plan" for development of the Long Lake Regional Park, which Concept <br />Plan has been approved by the Planning Commission of the City of <br />New Brighton and has been forwarded to the City Council of the <br />City of New Brighton for their approval. <br />The membership concluded that it was their desire and in the <br />best interest of the community and the public generally to limit <br />the development and uses of the Lona Lake Regional Park to passive~l~ <br />uses such as family picnicking, swimming, biking and nature centers. <br />The membership was advised that a questionnaire had been <br />distributed to(( )the community and had been analyzed by the Park Board <br />and summarized2in a tabulation which is attached. <br />It was observed that the Long Lake Concept Plan for the <br />development of Long Lake Regional Park as approved by the City of <br />New Brighton Park Board and submitted to the City Council 'includes <br />various active uses of the park which are in opposition ~.o the public's <br />desired use. Therefore, <br />BE TT RESOLVED, by the Lang Lake Home Owners Association: <br />THAT THE LONG LAKE HOMF. OWNERS ASSOCIATION REQUF,STS THE <br />CITY .COUNCIL TO MODIFY THE PARK DEVELOPMENT PLAN <br />SUBMITTED BY THE PARK BOARD IN THE FOLLOWING RESPECTS: <br />l~ That the eight uses receiving the majority o£ the <br />community's votes as appropriate uses for the park <br />be established as the facilities which the I~c~ng Lake <br />Regional Park will provide; that is, specifically: <br />picnic areas <br />hiking trails <br />bicycle trails <br />nature center <br />cross country ski trails <br />swi.mmina_ beach <br />fishing dock <br />,,,. <br />handicapped trails <br />t <br />
