PARK BOARD MINUTES -2- DECEMBER 7, 1977 <br />Councilman Senden suggested that the Council be <br />asked to consider lake surface use as a separate <br />item early in t78. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded,by Kern that the Board <br />recommend approval of the plan as submitted. <br />Motion by Blomquist seconded by Westling that the <br />motion be ammended to request the Council to address <br />the boat launching and canoe rentals as a separate <br />issue early in 1978, <br />Motion as ammended passed - Cook nay <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Olson to recommend the <br />following priorities for development at Long Lake; <br />1. Boundary Controls 5. Landscaping <br />2. Site Work 6+ Trails <br />3. Roads 7. Beach Facilities <br />~. Utilities 8. Picnic Facilities <br />Motion passed. <br />Gunderman suggested that perhaps snowmobiling on the <br />site should be considered for inclusion into the <br />plan at a later date. <br />B. Athletic Field Data <br />Staff reviewed inf ormation on athletic field lighting <br />from neighboring communities. Because of the great <br />diversity of design, no clear pattern emerged from <br />the study. <br />VI. New Business <br />A. Procedure for Filling Vacancies on Advisory Boards <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by Grimshaw to recommend <br />approval of procedure with the following changes. <br />1. That notices be mailed to Board Members <br />informing them of expiring terms. <br />2. That a procedure be established for re-application <br />for current members. <br />3. That new applicants have an opportunity to list <br />two or three choices for service on Boards. <br />Motion passed. <br />
