PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 2, 1977 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 800 by acting Chair- <br />person Dahl. <br />II. Members presento Andreotti, Cook, Dahl, Grimshaw, Kern, <br />Utestling. <br />Members absento Blomquist, Gunderman, Olson <br />III. Minutes of October 5, 1977 meeting were approved as <br />submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence - None <br />V . Unfinished Business <br />A. Long Lake Planning - Dahl reviewed for those in attend- <br />ance, events leading up to purchase of the site and <br />previous planning efforts.. <br />question/Comment <br />Response <br />Motorized vehicles should <br />be kept out of park <br />Snowmobile trails were <br />promised at bond issue <br />meeting <br />Power boating must be <br />controlled <br />Pedestrian gates and fences <br />would accomplish this <br />No one was able to recall such <br />a promise <br />The issue will be addressed, <br />however, the issue at hand is <br />only location of launch area <br />b~TOUld like to reinforce the <br />restriction of motorized <br />vehicles <br />The western portion of file <br />park is too highly developed <br />Concession and amusement <br />stands will blight picnic <br />axea <br />The development is not as intense <br />as it appears on the concept plan <br />Except for beach concession stand, <br />all such stands would only be <br />present on a temporary basis, <br />e . g . ~-th of July <br />Are there going to be <br />user fees at the park? <br />tnThat action will be taken <br />to prevent vandalism? <br />There will probably be a parking <br />fee but no charge for walk or . <br />bike ins . <br />Ramsey County is experimenting <br />with a park ranger program. This <br />may supplement police patrols <br />
