<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held <br />Tuesday, December 23, 1986, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Brandt, Gunderman, and Williams (arrived at <br />7 : 42 p. m. ) <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Schmidt <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: <br /> <br />Henry Sinda, City Manager <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />Gary Berger, Administrative Assistant <br />Dave Kennedy, City Attorney <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Approval of the minutes of December 9, 1986, were deferred to the <br />January 13, 1987, council meeting. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with consent of council, received the Planning <br />Commission minutes of November 18, 1986. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Mayor Benke acknowledged receipt of a donation from Basic Indus- <br />tries for $2,000 to be applied to personal protection equipment <br />for the police officers, noting Basic Industries annually makes <br />a contribution to the city. <br /> <br />Brandt stated she was not aware the city receives this donation <br />every year and felt there should be some publicity. <br /> <br />Benke asked Sinda to prepare a letter thanking Basic Industries. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Brandt, seconded by Gunderman, to APPROVE THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA ITEMS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1.
