<br />PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />July 7, 1976 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 8e00 p.m. by Chairperson <br />Gunderman. <br />II': Park Board members presence Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Kern, Smith, <br />Sullivan, G:~eissman and Council Representative Senden. <br />III. Minutes of May 5, 1976 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Staff reported that the State had approved the development <br />grant for Vermont Park and that bids were being solicited for <br />shelter construction at Vermont and Hidden Oaks park sites. <br />V. A. Shelter Construction - Bids to be awarded approximately <br />August 1, 1976 with shelters to be functional by December <br />1, 1976. <br />B. Silver Oaks - Staff explained progress to date, including <br />the followingo <br />1) A survey of residents ranked interest in facilities9 <br />Ballfield, Tennis Courts, Creative Play Area, Park <br />Lighting, Picnic Area, Walkpath, Renovated Classroom, <br />Hockey, Volleyball, Archery, Sun Shelter, Shuffle- <br />board, Horseshoe, Separate Shelter Building. <br />2) Dr. Rentz, Superintendent of School District 282, w3.11 <br />propose to the school board expenditures of approxi- <br />mately $20,000 in 1.976-77 and 1977-78 fiscal years. <br />C. Jerry Smith reported of facilities viewed during the Board <br />and Commission's tour. <br />VI. Jim Ulinkels briefed the Board on the development of the upcoming <br />Capital Improvement Plan. He explained that the plan must be <br />submitted by October 1, X976, suggested that the Board examine <br />the guidelines developed by the management team last year and <br />be prepared to comment on those guidelines, as well as recommend <br />projects. He also suggested that the T~nvironmental Quality <br />Commission, Human Rights Commission and Citizen's Study Committee <br />be contacted regarding possible "joint projects". The following <br />persons agreed to contact the commissions: <br />Marv Cook - Environmental Quality Commission <br />Ellen Dahl - Human Rights Commission 8c H.R.A. <br />Jerry Smith - Citizen's Study Committee <br />Council Representative Senden requested that the guidelines from <br />the 1976-80 Capital Improvement Plan be sent out with the minutes <br />of the July meeting. Dahl requested a map of special use <br />facilities in the area to be used for planning purposes. <br />VII.
