~ ~f~- " -:t PARK BOARD MINUTES April 7y 1976 I. Park Board Meeting was called to order at 8D00 p.m. by Chairperson Gunderman. II. Board members presento Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Kern, Sullivan9 Zn?eissman and Council Representative Senden. Board members absents Smith. TII. Minutes of March 3, 19~6 meeting were approved as submitted. IV. Correspondance<. None. V. Unfinished Business Silver Oaks - Staff reported that the St. Anthony School Board ha.d made a commitment to provide land for development of a neigh- borhood -park on school property and to explore the passibility of joint funding. Chairperson Gunderman expressed concern that residents were not being involved in the process early enough and that the St. Anthony School Board would reject anything less than a complete plan. Dale Seppa, Jim Bullock-and Mike Pisansky volunteered to serve on the Planning Committee. Council/Board Work Session - Chairperson Gunderman reported that an agenda had not yet been developed and that he and Ellen Dahl. would prepare a tentative agenda for approval. Minneapolis Znlater Treatment Site - Staff reported that Mr. Hjack from the Water Department had been contacted and that he indicated strong opposition to removing any portion of the fencing. Lake Surface Use Comm~:ttee - No report. 1975 Recreation Report - Chairperson Gunderman stated that he felt there was a need for more publicity regarding department activities. VI. New Business: Langton Lake Ad Hoc Committee - Pat Johnson, representing the Committee, requested support from the Board for an environmental impact study prior to development of the Langton Lake area of Roseville. The Board agreed that drainage through the county ditch system would impact on Hansen Park, Pike and Long Lakes in New Brighton. Motion by DahlS seconded by Tideissman that 'che Board send a letter to the Minnesota Environmental Quality Council requesting a study prior to development. Motion carried.
