(~) <br />Ramsey County Open Space Update <br />The Board was inf ormed of the status of the Long Lake/Rush Lake/Rice <br />Creek property in the Ramsey County Open Space System. The property <br />is presently listed No. 3 in the top priority with No.'s 1 and 2 <br />already being funded and place-~ the Long Lake/Rush Lake/Rice Creek <br />property in an advantageious position. The Board was made aware of <br />the public hearing concerning priority of Ramsey County Open Space <br />Program on September 16, 19721- at 7:30 p.m. in the St. Paul City Hall <br />(third floor - City Council Chambers) and urged to attend. The <br />subject of the Brightwaod Hills Golf Course being acquired through <br />Ramsey County 0_pen Space was discussed. The Board was informed that <br />the resolution has been sent to Ramsey County Commissioners and will <br />be a part of the upcoming public hearings. The Board was requested <br />to urge all interested residents to attend the public hearings.`:. <br />HUD <br />Smith felt that the Board should look into passible funds available <br />through HUD. Through further discussion, the Board was informed that <br />the City Council was establishing a Housing and Redevelopment Authority. <br />Smith requested that the Council consider placing a Park Board member <br />on the New Brighton Housing Redevelopment Authority. <br />Department Report <br />1) The Board received the results of the city-wide survey conducted <br />by the Department. The resrults were discussed and will be placed <br />on the October agenda for further interpretation. <br />2) Information was given to the Board regarding the advertisement <br />for the position of Director of Parks and Recreations which is <br />currently listed in the League of. Municipalities and M.R.P.A. <br />membership mailings. <br />3) The Board was informed of the Department's reorganization of Dutch <br />Elm and Oak TnTilt Disease Control Program. <br />Meeting was adjourned at 1028 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Charles H.
